Description
Neurodiversity Awareness is an online course of approximately 30-45 minutes. Who it is for: All staff, managers and recruiters in any organisation who want to understand neurodiversity and help neurodivergent colleagues thrive at work. No previous knowledge is assumed.
The course has five short lessons:
- What neurodiversity means: Neurodiversity, neurodivergent and neurotypical, how common it is, and why it matters at work.
- Common conditions: Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and Tourette's, with strengths and challenges.
- The law: Disability under the Equality Act 2010, discrimination, reasonable adjustments and Access to Work.
- Adjustments and inclusive practice: Adjustments by need, inclusive recruitment, meetings and the environment, and the adjustment conversation.
- Respectful communication and support: Clear communication, language and disclosure, confidentiality, challenging stereotypes and wellbeing.
Every teaching page is narrated with captions and includes an interaction. Each lesson before the last ends with a knowledge check, and the last lesson closes with a 12-question assessment drawn from all five lessons (70% to pass, unlimited retakes, results by lesson) and a set of personal commitments recorded with the result.
This course is awareness training on neurodiversity at work, in line with Acas guidance and the Equality Act 2010. It is not medical or legal advice, and it does not teach you to diagnose anyone. Your organisation's policies, and the individual's own view of what helps them, always come first.
